Community Guidelines

Welcome to the Sensei Platform’s Community Guidelines! 

Please read these terms carefully before you create an account with us or access our platform or services. These terms set out what you can and can’t do on our platform, particularly in relation to our Community Forum.

What are the Sensei Community Guidelines?

  • These Community Guidelines set out the content standards that apply when you upload content to the Sensei Platform, contact other users on the Sensei Platform, link to our site, or interact with the Sensei Platform in any other way. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions and Website Terms and Conditions.
  • The Sensei Platform is accessed by a diverse audience and to ensure that all our users follow a standard practice and to foster a safe environment for you to express yourself, we have put in place strict guidelines and restrictions which govern the usage of the Sensei Platform. These Community Guidelines and restrictions may not be exhaustive, and we reserve the right to decide, in our sole discretion, what content violates the Sensei Platform Terms and Conditions, Website Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy and how we want to deal with such violations.
  • We reserve the right to change these Community Guidelines at any time, at our discretion.

Applicable Law:

  • All content must adhere to applicable law. All registered users must ensure that the content they upload adheres to and conforms with applicable laws.
  • Content may not be uploaded, posted, commented on, or shared by you if it threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of any country, friendly relations with foreign states, or public order. You may not post or engage with any content that is insulting to any other nation or community, incites the commission of any offences or prevents the investigations of offences.

Prohibited uses:

You may not use the Sensei Platform:

  • If you are under 16.
  • In any way that breaches any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation.
  • In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
  • For the purpose of harming or attempting to harm minors in any way.
  • To bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate any person.
  • To send, knowingly receive, upload, download, use or re-use any material which does not comply with our content standards.
  • To transmit, or procure the sending of, any unsolicited or unauthorised advertising or promotional material or any other form of similar solicitation (spam).
  • To knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs or similar computer code designed to adversely affect the operation of any computer software or hardware.
  • In any way that involves child sexual exploitation or abuse.
  • To upload terrorist content.

You also agree:

  • Not to reproduce, duplicate, copy or re-sell any part of our site in contravention of the provisions of our Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions and Website Terms and Conditions.
  • To distribute all or any part of the Sensei Platform (including online content and self-learning courses) unless such distribution is offered through the functionality of the Sensei Platform.
  • Not to cheat or evade any rules in place from time to time with the aim of achieving leader board points.
  • Not to access without authority, interfere with, damage, or disrupt:
    • any part of our site;
    • any equipment or network on which our site is stored;
    • any software used in the provision of our site; or
    • any equipment or network or software owned or used by any third party.

Content standards:

These content standards apply to any and all material which you contribute to the Sensei Platform (“Contribution”).

The Content Standards must be complied with in spirit as well as to the letter. The standards apply to each part of any Contribution as well as to its whole.

Nirvana will determine, at its discretion, whether a Contribution breaches the Content Standards.

A Contribution:

  • Must be accurate (where it states facts).
  • Only contain opinions that are genuinely held.
  • Must comply with the law applicable in any country from which it is posted and to which the website is targeted.

A Contribution must not:

  • Be defamatory of any person.
  • Be obscene, offensive, hateful, or inflammatory.
  • Bully, insult, intimidate or humiliate.
  • Encourage, promote, or provide instructions for deliberate self-harm.
  • Encourage, promote, or provide instructions for suicide.
  • Encourage, promote, or provide instructions for an eating disorder or behaviours associated with an eating disorder.
  • Promote sexually explicit material.
  • Include child sexual abuse material.
  • Incite violence or hatred against particular groups.
  • Promote discrimination based on race, sex, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
  • Include content that would be considered a criminal offence under laws relating to terrorism, child sexual abuse material, racism or zenophobia.
  • Infringe any copyright, database right or trademark of any other person.
  • Include video content that has been or would be likely to be given an R18 certificate by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).
  • Include video content not suitable for BBFC classification.
  • Include material that might impair the physical, mental, or moral development of persons under the age of 18 (eighteen).
  • Be likely to deceive any person.
  • Breach any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence.
    Contain illegal content or promote any illegal content or activity.
  • Be in contempt of court.
  • Be threatening, abuse or invade another's privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.
  • Be likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person.
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person.
  • Give the impression that the Contribution emanates from Nirvana Consulting Group (or its affiliates), if this is not the case.
  • Advocate, promote, incite any party to commit, or assist any unlawful or criminal act such as (by way of example only) copyright infringement or computer misuse.
  • Contain a statement which you know or believe, or have reasonable grounds for believing, that members of the public to whom the statement is, or is to be, published are likely to understand as a direct or indirect encouragement or other inducement to the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism.
  • Contain any advertising or promote any services or web links to other sites.
  • You must comply with our guidance on the use of maturity or sensitivity ratings on video content.

For the avoidance of doubt, for any Contribution in the form of video content:

  • You must tell us immediately if you upload a video containing any of the following: criminal material (relating to terrorism, sexual exploitation of children, child pornography, racism, and xenophobia), unclassified or unclassifiable videos, videos rated R18 or suitable for R18 rating and other material that might impair the physical, mental or moral development of persons under the age of 18 (eighteen) (restricted material).
  • You must not upload a video containing harmful material.
  • You must not upload a video containing advertising for any of the following:
    • cigarettes and other tobacco products, electronic cigarettes or electronic cigarette refill containers, and prescription-only medicine; or
      for alcoholic drinks that are not aimed specifically at under 18 (eighteen) and do not encourage immoderate consumption of alcohol.
  • Any advertising included in a video you upload must not:
    • prejudice and respect for human dignity;
    • include or promote discrimination based on sex, racial or ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, disability, age or sexual orientation;
    • encourage behaviour prejudicial to health or safety;
    • encourage behaviour grossly prejudicial to the protection of the environment;
    • cause physical, mental or moral detriment to persons under the age of 18 (eighteen);
    • directly exhort such persons to purchase or rent goods or services in a manner which exploits their inexperience or credulity;
    • directly encourage such persons to persuade their parents or others to purchase or rent goods or services;
    • exploit the trust of such persons in parents, teachers or others; or
    • unreasonably show such persons in dangerous situations.
    • No advertising videos or content must be posted in the community.

Your Account; Termination

You may terminate these Community Guidelines at any time by requesting deletion of your Sensei account and discontinuing your use of all Sensei services.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the community and/or the Sensei Platform, with or without notice:

  • if you violate the Community Guidelines;
  • If you use the community in a way that reflects negatively on Nirvana or;
  • at any time for any or no reason, if we determine it to be necessary in our sole discretion.

Your Data

The data collected when you access or use the community is processed by our Privacy Policy, which includes details about how Nirvana uses the data it collects and how to reach us with any questions. To provide you with access to the community, we may share your data with certain third-party service providers.

Intellectual Property

It is important to us that instructors respect the intellectual property rights (including copyright and trademark rights) of others. Any infringing activity is not tolerated on or through our Sensei Platform. If one of our instructors has published a course that infringes your copyright or trademark rights, please let us know.

Updates

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the amended Community Guidelines and update the last updated date above. If we believe, in our sole discretion, that the changes are material, we will notify you via email or by providing notice through the Sensei services or on our community (including via featured post, which will be posted for a minimum of one week after the update). Modifications will become effective on the day they are posted unless stated otherwise. By continuing to access the community after changes become effective, you agree to be bound by the updated Community Guidelines.

Breach of this policy

When we consider that a breach of these Community Guidelines has occurred, we may take such action as we deem appropriate.  

Failure to comply with these Community Guidelines constitutes a material breach of our Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions and Website Terms and Conditions upon which you are permitted to use the Sensei Platform, and may result in our taking all or any of the following actions:

  • Immediate, temporary, or permanent withdrawal of your right to use the Sensei Platform.
  • Immediate, temporary, or permanent removal of any Contribution uploaded by you to the Sensei Platform.
  • Issue of a warning to you.
  • Legal proceedings against you for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including, but not limited to, reasonable administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach.
  • Further legal action against you.
  • Disclosure of such information to law enforcement authorities as we reasonably feel is necessary or as required by law.

We exclude our liability for all actions we may take in response to breaches of these Community Guidelines. The actions we may take are not limited to those described above, and we may take any other action we reasonably deem appropriate.

Non-Consensual Content

Content, data, or information of another person, including their pictures or videos without obtaining their prior consent to use such content, data or information on the Sensei Platform is strictly prohibited.

You shall not post anyone’s personally identifiable information (including but not limited to their name, phone number(s), address, email ID, bank account or other financial information) or their photographs or videos without their permission or consent.

You shall not post content that is invasive of anyone’s privacy. We will remove such content.

Any content that violates the above shall be immediately removed and users who repeatedly post such content shall lose access to the Sensei Platform.

Reporting

While Nirvana makes every possible effort to ensure that all content is moderated to ensure adherence to and compliance with the Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions, Website Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy and specifically these Community Guidelines, we may not always be able to identify violative content. We, therefore, rely on our users to report content that they feel might violate the Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions, Website Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy and specifically these Community Guidelines. We encourage you to report posts which might violate the Sensei Platform Terms & Conditions, Website Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy/these Community Guidelines.
