This Privacy Policy describes how Sensei collects, uses, shares, protects or otherwise processes your Personal Information through Sensei Platform. This Privacy Policy applies to those who register on the Sensei Platform provided by Sensei, in connection with the use of Our services, or whose information Sensei Platform otherwise receives in connection with its services.

By visiting the Sensei Platform, or by providing your information or availing any product/service offered on the Sensei Platform, you expressly agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy, the Site Policy (Terms of Use) and the applicable service/product terms and conditions, and agree to be governed by the laws of India including but not limited to the laws applicable to data protection and privacy. If you do not agree please do not use or access the Sensei Platform.

Information We Collect:

We collect information about you or your usage to provide better services to all of Our users. We collect information in the following ways:

• When you sign up for an account on Sensei Platform, We will ask for Personal Information such as your name, email address, and phone number to create/update your account.
• To provide additional services, We may collect profile information such as educational background, work experience, whether you are a student or professional, your career goal (such as further studies or job prospects), preferred country of study or work, and date of birth.
• We collect information about the services you use and how you use them, including log information and location information.
• For study abroad programs, We may collect Personal Information such as passport details or such other information, including the year of joining program and the preferred budget for the tuition fees of such programs as may be required to enable Us to provide services.
• When you communicate with Sensei or use the Sensei Platform to communicate with other users, We collect information about your communication and any additional information you provide.

In general, you can browse the Sensei Platform without telling Us who you are or revealing any Personal Information about yourself. Once you give Us your Personal Information, you are not anonymous to Us. Where possible, We indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional. You always have the option to not provide information, by choosing not to use a particular service or feature on the Sensei Platform. We will also collect your information related to your transactions on the Sensei Platform and such third-party business partner platforms. When such a third-party business partner collects your Personal Information directly from you, you will be governed by their respective privacy policies. We shall not be responsible for the third-party business partner’s privacy practices or the content of their privacy policies, and We request you to read their privacy policies prior to disclosing any information. If you set up an account or transact with Us, We may seek some additional information, such as billing address, credit/debit card number and a credit/debit card expiration date and/ or other payment instrument details and tracking information from cheques or money orders to provide services, enable transactions or to refund for cancelled transactions. If you receive an e-mail, a call from a person/association claiming to be from Sensei seeking sensitive Personal Information like debit/credit card PIN, net-banking or mobile banking password, We request you to never provide such information. We at Sensei do not at any time connect with you requesting for such information. If you have already revealed such information, report it immediately to an appropriate law enforcement agency.

Use:

We use the Personal Information to provide the services you request, including but not limited to helping students get details, discover and research on colleges, courses and exams of their interest and for allied services related thereto. To the extent We use your Personal Information to market to you, We will provide you the ability to opt-out of such uses. In Our efforts to continually improve Our service offerings, We collect and analyse demographic and profile data about users' activity on the Sensei Platform. We identify and use your IP address to help diagnose problems with Our server, and to administer the Sensei Platform. Your IP address is also used to help identify you and to gather broad demographic information. We may occasionally ask you to complete surveys conducted either by Us or through a third- party market research agency. These surveys may ask you for Personal Information, contact information, gender, date of birth, demographic information (like pin code, age or income level) attributes such as your interests, household or lifestyle information, your purchasing behaviour or history preference and other such information that you may choose to provide. The survey may involve collection of voice data or video recordings. Participation in these surveys is purely voluntary in nature. We use this data to tailor your experience at Our Sensei Platform, providing you with content that We think you might be interested in and to display content according to your preferences.

Sensei may process your Personal Information for various purposes including but not limited to:

• improving user experience, providing customised search results, sending alerts and newsletters (provided you subscribe to the same and can unsubscribe at any time via your account settings);

All content present on this Sensei Platform is the exclusive property of Sensei. The software, text, images, graphics, multimedia, video and audio used on this Sensei Platform belong to Sensei. No material from this Sensei Platform may be copied, modified, reproduced, republished, uploaded, transmitted, posted or distributed in any form without prior written permission from Sensei. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved. Unauthorized use of the materials appearing on this Sensei Platform may violate copyright, trademark and other applicable laws, and will result in Sensei having the right to exercise its rights or remedies under applicable laws. We respect copyright and intellectual property laws and will be happy to remove courses or content (including text, graphics, multimedia, etc), published in good faith, which infringe or violate copyright or intellectual property rights when brought to the notice of Sensei. Please report such cases through the contact form provided on the Sensei Platform.

Consent

By visiting the Sensei Platform or by providing your information, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and otherwise processing of your Personal Information on the Sensei Platform in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you disclose to Us any Personal Information relating to other people, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit Us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. All the users of the Sensei Platform are provided with an opportunity to opt out of receiving non-essential (promotional, marketing-related) communications from Us after setting up an account on the Sensei Platform. Our use of cookies and other tracking technologies allows Us to improve our Sensei Platform and your Web experience. We may also analyse information that does not contain Personal Information for trends and statistics.

We may share your Personal Information with third-party service providers to help deliver programs, products, information, and services. We ensure that these providers protect Personal Information on Our behalf. Emails

Sensei intellectual services may, if the user so chooses, send direct emails to the email address provided by the user. These emails are sent to inform the users about the programs and events conducted by Sensei intellectual services. They are also sent to inform the users about their login details and to reset the forgotten passwords.

Anti-Spam Policy

Sensei intellectual services recognizes the receipt, transmission or distribution of spam emails (unsolicited bulk emails) as a major concern and has taken reasonable measures, to minimize the transmission and effect of spam emails in its computing environment. All emails received by Sensei intellectual services are subject to spam check. Any email identified as spam will be rejected with sufficient information to the sender for taking necessary action. With this measure, along with other technical spam reduction measures, Sensei intellectual services hopes to minimize the effect of spam emails. Sensei intellectual services reserves the right to reject and/or report any suspicious spam emails, to the authorities concerned, for necessary action, from time to time.

Disclosure of Information:

We restrict access to your Personal Information to employees who reasonably need to know that information. We do not rent, sell, or share Personal Information about you with non-affiliated companies except for the specific purposes outlined hereinbelow:

  • to share your Personal Information with potential employers, colleges or educational institutions, etc. based on your browsing behaviour or expression of interest regarding employment type, courses, specializations and institutions or in case of applications for admission to such colleges or educational institutions, who may further contact you and process your information for the said purposes. 

Phishing

Identity theft and the practice currently known as ‘phishing’ are of great concern to us. Safeguarding information to help protect you from identity theft is a top priority. We do not and will not, at any time, request your credit card information or national identification numbers in a non-secure or unsolicited e-mail or telephone communication.

Children

Use of the Sensei Platform is available only to persons who can form a legally binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. We do not knowingly solicit or collect Personal Information from children under the age of 18 years. If you have shared any Personal Information of children under the age of 18 years, you represent that you have the authority to do so and permit Us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Retention of Personal Information:

We retain your Personal Information for no longer than necessary for the purposes for which it was processed, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. At the expiry of such periods, your Personal Information will be archived to comply with legal/contractual retention obligations or in accordance with applicable statutory limitation periods.

Personalisation of Services:

To the extent permitted by the laws of India, Sensei Platform may record and monitor your communications with Us to ensure compliance with Our legal and regulatory obligations and Our internal policies. This may include the recording of telephone conversations.

You are legally entitled to request details of the Personal Information We may be holding about you. Sensei provides you the ability to keep your Personal Information accurate and up-to-date. If at any time you would like to rectify, erase or restrict the processing of your Personal Information, or you would like to obtain confirmation whether or not your Personal Information is processed by it, access your Personal Information, exercise your right to data portability or withdraw your consent to processing, please contact Our Data Protection Officer/Grievance Officer.

Social media

Sensei Platform operates channels, pages and accounts on some social media sites including but not limited to Linkedin, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, Google Ads, Tik Tok, Twitter etc. to inform, assist and engage with you. Sensei Platform monitors and records comments and posts made on these channels about Sensei Platform in order to improve its products and services. Please note that you must not communicate with Sensei Platform through such social media sites, the following information:

• Sensitive personal data including (i) special categories of personal data meaning any information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person's sex life or sexual orientation and (ii) other sensitive personal data such as criminal convictions and offenses and national identification number;
• Excessive, inappropriate, offensive or insulting information towards individuals.

Confidentiality and Security:

To protect your Personal Information from unauthorised access or disclosure, loss or misuse We adopt reasonable security practices and procedures, in line with international standards ISO/IEC 27001:2013 which is recognised as one of the highest information security standards. Whenever you access your account information, We offer the use of a secure server. The transmission of information is not completely secure for reasons beyond Our control. We adopt industry standard security measures and keep updating Our systems from time to time to protect your Personal Information against any hacking or virus dissemination. However, by using the Sensei Platform, the users accept the security implications of data transmission over the internet and the World Wide Web which cannot always be guaranteed as completely secure, and therefore, there would always remain certain inherent risks regarding the use of the Sensei Platform. Users are responsible for ensuring the protection of login and password records for their accounts.

Changes to this Privacy Policy:

Sensei reserves the right to update, change, or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. The Privacy Policy shall come into effect from the date of such update, change, or modification.

Disclaimer:

Sensei shall not be liable for any loss or damage sustained by reason of any disclosure (inadvertent or otherwise) of any information concerning the user's account and/or information relating to or regarding online transactions using credit cards/debit cards and/or their verification process and particulars nor for any error, omission or inaccuracy with respect to any information so disclosed and used whether or not in pursuance of a legal process or otherwise. Sensei Platform does not store any credit/debit card details.

Any other Personal Information shared by you which is not asked by Sensei Platform during registration, either mandatorily or optionally; accounts for wilful and intentional furnishing; and Sensei Platform will not be liable for breach of such information.

By using Sensei Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms.

Governing Law

This Sensei Platform and disclaimer shall be governed by and construed in accordance with all applicable laws of India. All disputes arising out of or in connection with this disclaimer or use of this Sensei Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, United Kingdom and Andhra Pradesh, India.
